Dr. Norman Ludwin, a well-respected orchestrator from Hollywood whose recent credits include Star Trek Beyond, Jurassic World, Inside Out, and Star Trek: Into Darkness and who also teaches at the UCLA Extension Film Music Dept., will present a talk on Saturday July 15th from 1 pm to 4 pm!
Norman will speak about how composers develop their material for maximum effect. Using his book Developing Variation as a starting point, Norman will explain the processes using examples from both film music and the concert world. He will also speak about the relationship between composition and orchestration.
There will be a small registration/materials fee. (est. $50 per attendee. Includes Dr. Ludwin’s book and other materials.)
